Speechless Moments
  • Payback Gressa was 2-1/2 and she and I were grocery shopping “together” while she was riding in the seated part of the cart. She started asking for various candy and treats that she saw. I was saying “no” to each one, and instead offering the healthy snacks that I’d brought for her. She was getting increasingly upset and frustrated with this. Suddenly, her expression changed to a glare and she started screaming, “YOU are NOT my Mama! NOPE, not you!” Shocked, surprised, (and a little embarrassed) I said, “Gressa! Whatever do you mean?? Of course I’m your Mama!” Gressa: “NO, NO you are not! Not my Mama! Not my Mama!” She stuck to the entire routine for four aisles. I wish I could’ve videotaped those suspicious and accusatory looks I was getting from the other customers!! Payback from a 2yr old???! — Jamaica, WI, Gressa age 2-1/2
  • Techno-Challenged John asked me what my favorite Wii game was when I was a kid. I told him we only had Pong, like you see Wall-E playing and we didn’t have computers back then. With wide eyes he asked very seriously “Then how did you Google?” — Jen W., AZ, John age 6
  • Uh-Oh My son Connor told me that other day that we needed to buy a Wii so I could get Wii Fit. I asked him why, He said, “Well, Mom, I didn’t want to tell you this, but your butt is getting big.” — Kim, AZ, Connor age 11
